Legal - Terms of Service

By accessing or using PadelRank (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service. You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these terms.

PadelRank provides a Bayesian rating API for padel applications (“Service”). The Service is offered on a tiered subscription basis with limits on players and monthly matches as described on our pricing page. Features and limits are subject to change with notice.

You agree to:

• Provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
• Keep your API keys and login credentials confidential.
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account.
• Maintain only one account per person or entity — account sharing is not permitted.

You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.

You may not use the Service to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the underlying ranking algorithm.
• Resell or redistribute raw API access to third parties without written permission (white-label use requires an Enterprise plan).
• Use the API for purposes unrelated to player ranking or sports data.
• Send automated requests beyond your tier's rate limits or attempt to bypass throttling.
• Store or redistribute PadelRank response data in a way that competes with or substitutes for the Service.
• Violate any applicable law or regulation.

We reserve the right to determine in our sole discretion whether use of the Service complies with this policy.

• Paid subscriptions are billed monthly in advance via Stripe.
• Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period. No prorated refunds are issued for mid-period cancellations.
• You may downgrade to the free Sandbox tier at any time.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with at least 30 days' notice.
• Failed payments may result in service degradation or suspension after a reasonable grace period.

Each subscription plan includes limits on the number of players and monthly match submissions as shown on the pricing page. Exceeding these limits may result in request throttling or temporary suspension of API access until the next billing cycle.

The Sandbox (free) tier is intended for testing and development purposes only and must not be used in production applications serving real users.

Our collection and use of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By using the Service you agree to our data practices as described there.

Player data you submit to the API is stored and processed solely to compute rankings. We do not sell your data or your users' data to third parties. Website analytics are provided by Vercel Analytics, which does not use cookies and does not collect personal identifiers.

You are solely responsible for obtaining any necessary consents from your end-users before submitting their data to the Service, and for complying with applicable data protection laws (including GDPR where applicable).

The PadelRank API, ranking algorithm, software, brand, and all associated intellectual property remain the exclusive property of PadelRank. Nothing in these terms grants you any ownership rights in the Service.

You retain full ownership of the data you submit (player names, match results, etc.). By submitting data, you grant PadelRank a limited licence to process it for the purpose of providing the Service.

The PadelRank name, logo, and brand may not be used without prior written permission.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that ranking results will be accurate or suitable for any particular purpose. Uptime SLAs (99%) apply only where explicitly stated for the applicable subscription plan.

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, PADELRANK'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US IN THE THREE (3) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

IN NO EVENT SHALL PADELRANK BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately and without notice if you materially breach these terms. For less severe violations, we will generally provide notice and an opportunity to remedy the breach before terminating.

You may cancel your account at any time from the billing section of your dashboard. Upon termination, your API keys will be revoked and your data may be deleted after a 30-day retention period.

These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising under these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the State of Delaware.

We may update these Terms of Service at any time. We will notify you of material changes by email or via a notice in your dashboard. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
